Viettel aim for more customers and revenue from oversea markets
In 2016, revenue from international investment activities of Viettel Global increased by 21.5%, which is more than double compared with growth rate in 2015. The accumulated number of customers overseas has reached nearly 36 million. This is the result of an aggressive expansion strategy that quickly attracts customers in low-density markets and focuses on new 4G technologies, value-added services, and mobile applications. Contributing to this development, not only is the fact that 5/9 of the markets have been pioneering 4G, bringing 25% growth in average revenue per customer but also the introduction of IT telecom solutions to enterprises and government.
Viettel’s sub-brand networks in foreign countries are rapidly ranked No. 1 in the local market

The target revenue is nearly $ 1.4 billion, growing 29%. At the same time, Viettel is also aiming at penetrating larger markets with the scale of 100-200 million people.
In the recent commitment of the Government of Vietnam with the leaders of Laos and Cambodia, it has been decided that there will be no roaming charges within the three nations. Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Member of the Party Central Committee, CEO of Viettel, said that up to now, no economic bloc has taken charge of roaming. However, from January 1, 2017, Viettel will drop roaming charges so when customers of Metfone (Cambodia) and Unitel (Laos) and Viettel in Vietnam call each other, the charge shall be as normal domestic ones. Viettel implemented the policy of free roaming charges between the three Indochinese countries, to not only express the close and friendly sentiments of the three neighbors butalso promote the economic triangle. This will help people to promote the exchange communication between people and businesses.
