Aming to develope a channel for promoting tourism in Vietnam, providing comprehensive content and information to users, giving travelers a smart travel experience in the Industry 4.0, VTV Travel promises to be the technology product of tourism indispensable for all domestic and international tourists.

VTV Travel will soon be launched by the cooperation of Viettel Group, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Vietnam Television (VTV), Nam Viet Communications Technology Development and Investment JSC.

In 2018, the tourism industry in Vietnam has achieved remarkable progress and results. According to data reported in the first nine months of 2018, the number of international visitors to Vietnam reached approximately 11.7 million (increased by 22.9% over the same period in 2017); Domestic tourists are estimated at 62.1 million (guests staying is 30.2 million); Total revenue from tourists reached VND 451,200 billion (up 20% over the same period). In particular, Vietnam has been awarded the "Asia’s Leading Destination 2018" by the World Travel Awards (WTA).

Tourism is one of the economic sectors where the Government has prioritized the development of digital conversion strategies and the application of information technology to promote Smart Tourism in Vietnam – the trend has been inevitable in many countries around the world. In that context, the cooperation between the sectors of Tourism - Communication - and Telecommunications plays an important role to exploit the strength of the parties, creating a resonance contributing to the promotion of tourism in Vietnam.

To implement this product, The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism has cooperated with Vietnam Television (VTV), Viettel Group and Nam Viet Communications Technology Development and Investment JSC signed cooperation agreement on develop “Smart Travel Portal - VTV Travel”. With the aim is to provide the best possible experience for travelers, thereby improving the quality of Vietnam's tourism.
