In 2015, Viettel has come through the agreement with the mobile operator monopoly in Cuba, named Etecsa. This relation is deemed by Viettel as one of strategic partnership which not only helps this operator guarantee best service quality to its end-user calling to Cuba but also opens up other business chances.

With direct route to Cuba, Viettel’s end-user is the first and foremost beneficiary from enhanced calling quality. Voice won’t be routed to intermediary carriers so there is no delay nor risk of failure. Thanks for that, this interconnection will improve the lives and the trade of many people and companies living in these two countries involved. At operator level, this cooperation has helped both sides cut down on termination fee and make roadway for developing and diversifying voice services to customers in two countries. Furthermore, this agreement will enable Viettel partners have the choice for delivering voice services cheaper and higher quality towards Cuba. Last but not least, relationship between two nations half-the-globe far away following Socialist political regime has been reinforced accordingly.
