Vietnam to save $14 billion annually with Viettel's Solution
According to Viettel ICT, Viettel began to build this solutions from the end of 2013. By 11/2014, NSW was piloted with 3 maritime procedures including entry, exit and transit of the Ministry of Transport. This project is expected to complete Phase 1 in November this year and complete the project in 2019.
The NSW has been implemented since April 29 in seven seaports around the nation, including the northern province and city of Quang Ninh and Hai Phong; central cities of Quy Nhon, Nha Trang and Da Nang; and southern cities of Vung Tau and HCM City.
The Command of Border Guard representatives officially launched its one-stop portal.
This solution aim to renovate administrative procedures. For the first month, the system has received and solved 2,800 procedures for transit, immigration of 1,800 ships, 33,000 sailors and 680 passengers. The electronic registration for border guard administrative procedures for transit and immigrated ships has cut waiting time in half, saving expenditure to dock in ports.
Up to now, NSW has connected 10 Ministries/ Sectors. NSW has the ability to manage 31 procedures, process 90.000 sets of records, connect 6.000 companies, reduce customs clearance time to 7-8 days, shorten ¾ time of procedures, help Vietnam save nearly $14 billion per year. Using NSW, the companies can save around $1.750 to $2.000 the charge of storage.
At the first stage of the project, Viettel has adjusted and added more functions for two of the ministry’s four procedures to integrate the system with the VNSW. In the coming time, Viettel will invest more high quality human resource for the second stage of the project.
