Viettel officially exploits AAE-1 submarine cable in July
In July-2017, Viettel Telecom Corporation will officially put AAE-1 (Asia – Africa – Europe – 1) submarine cable into operation. Previously, the entire domestic transmission infrastructure (landing station, fiber optic systems, equipment, etc.) was completed to be ready to connect AAE-1’s capacity to Viettel's network.
The AAE-1 Submarine Cable Consortium also confirmed on June 27, 2016 that the AAE-1 cable was officially completed and ready for service.
AAE-1 Submarine Cable Network
The AAE-1 is the first submarine cable system connecting all of Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe with the lowest latency between these areas. The AAE-1 is terminated at the world's largest data centers such as Telecom House in Hong Kong; Equinix and Global Switch in Singapore; Interxion Marseille - MRS1 and MRS2 in France.
With a length of 23,000 km and branches in Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Pakistan, India, Oman, UAE, Qatar, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Djibouti, Egypt, Greece, Italy, France. Total capital investment is approximately 820 million USD with 19 partners from 19 countries including China Unicom, PCCW Global, Viettel Group, VNPT, Metfone, CIL, TOT, GT5L, PTCL, Reliance Jio, Omantel, Ooredoo, Etisalat, Tele Yemen, Mobily, Djibouti Telecom, Telecom Egypt, Oteglobe, and Retelit.
