Major General Le Dang Dung, Viettel’s Deputy-Director General, said that Myanmar’s economy is open at a high growth rate so there are many opportunities for telecoms like Viettel.
“In 2018 alone, we plan to have 2 to 3 million customers”, he stressed.

Accordingly, Vietnam is ranked the seventh among 49 countries and territories investing in Myanmar. Vietnam has also become the second biggest investor in Myanmar among the ASEAN member states.
In Myanmar, Mytel is the fourth mobile network. The other three operators are MPT (Myanmar Government, 42% of the market), Teleenor (Norway, 35% of the market), and Ooredoo (Qatar, 23% of the market).
Myanmar is the fastest growing economy (7%) among the overseas markets in which Viettel has operations, and furthermore Myanmar is also a country where telecoms and IT are developing quickly.
