Viettel meets target of 2 million FTTH subscribers

The number of Viettel fiber-optic internet subscribers (Fiber to the home – FTTH services) reached 2 million in October 2016 and the service provider has continuously enjoyed a growth rate of 3-6% since April.

So far, Viettel has installed in its 500,000km of fiber-optic cable covering 5,170 communes (or 46% of the total communes nationwide). Since the early 2016, on average each month 90,000 subscribers have chosen to use FTTH services of Viettel. Viettel also provides services other than FTTH on the same internet lines, including the cable TV service.

According to statistics, the rate of subscribers using both internet and cable TV services of Viettel in 2016 increased by around more than 20% compared to 2015. In 2017, the provider plans to increase the number of FTTH subscribers by about 20-25% and increase the coverage to 70% of the communes nationwide.In this meeting, the leading representative of Viettel Group and some heads of Viettel local branches in Peru reported though telecommunications bridge on operational status and business results of the company.
